Home Preparation Guide
A well-prepared property photographs better, films better, and sells the lifestyle buyers are looking for. This guide walks you through everything we recommend before your Photostetic shoot, so our team can spend the session creating strong visuals instead of moving clutter. Most preparations take less than a day, and the difference in the final images is significant.
Before the shoot
Start with the essentials: deep clean every room, clear countertops in kitchens and bathrooms, and remove personal items such as family photos, magnets, and toiletries. Open all blinds and curtains, replace any burnt-out light bulbs, and make sure every light fixture works. Outside, mow the lawn, clear vehicles from the driveway, store garbage bins out of sight, and tidy pool areas and patios. If the property is occupied, let tenants or family members know the schedule so every space is accessible when we arrive.
On the day of your session
Plan for the property to be shoot-ready at least thirty minutes before our arrival. Turn on all interior lights, turn off ceiling fans and televisions, and keep pets in a secure area. Our team works room by room, and small final touches such as fluffing pillows, straightening chairs, and hiding cords help each frame look intentional. For video and 3D tour sessions, the home needs to stay consistent throughout the shoot, so we recommend keeping foot traffic to a minimum while we work.
Why preparation matters
Professional photography and video capture exactly what is in front of the lens. Editing can refine color and light, but it cannot remove a cluttered countertop or a car in the driveway without compromising quality. Properties that arrive prepared consistently produce stronger galleries, smoother video walkthroughs, and more accurate 3D tours, which translates into more showings and better offers.
